The coupling is mainly used to connect the transmission shaft of each mechanism. Due to different mechanical equipment, the functions of various gear couplings are slightly different. For example, on the forklift, the coupling is used to transfer the power between the transmission and the drive axle.

Due to the short longitudinal size of the transmission system, forklifts below 3t generally adopt rigid connection structure, that is, from the engine – clutch – transmission – coupling shaft shell – drive axle are bolt connection, that is, from the engine to the drive axle is a rigid whole, in the middle of the rigid whole, the use of gear coupling.

Forklifts over 5t generally adopt universal joint due to the long longitudinal size of the transmission system.
Drive axle of forklift through coupling.

Half Gear Coupling

The gear coupling is made up of two coupling disks connected by its inner and outer teeth.
A coupling disc with inner and outer teeth is connected to the transmission and drive axle by splines or keys.

1) spline teeth on the gear are damaged and should be replaced if the fit gap is greater than 0.4mm.

2) when the keyway on the gear is damaged, the keyway is allowed to be expanded and replaced.
Or insert another keyway 60° from the original keyway.

3) when the gear coupling is adjusted, the coaxiality of the two shafts shall not be greater than 0.4mm.
